Too many potatoes cooked? Bake yourself a juicy potato bread

How delicious is a slice of fresh, even lukewarm bread and then home-baked? Best prepared from potatoes from the day before as a delicious leftover. We'll tell you how to do that here in this recipe.

Winter is the best time to make yourself really comfortable in your own four walls and bake your own bread. Fancy something different? Potato bread is a tasty change from the usual breads and an easy way to process already cooked potatoes or raw potato leftovers. The potatoes make the bread nice and juicy and it stays fresh longer. 73  g cooked potatoes
4  g fresh yeast
100  g lukewarm water
  g Salt
167  g Spelt flour (Type 630)

Preparation

Step 1

Peel the potatoes, cook them and crush them with a potato masher. Allow the mashed potatoes to cool.

Step 2

Mix spelt flour with salt in a mixing bowl.

Step 3

Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and add to the mixing bowl to the spelt flour-salt mix. Then knead to a smooth dough.

Step 4

Add mashed potatoes to the dough. Mix all ingredients evenly.

Step 4

Cover the bread dough and let it rise for 4 hours.

Step 6

Preheat oven to 250 °C top/bottom heat.

Step 7

Knead bread dough on a floured work surface and form into a loaf.

Step 8

Reduce the temperature to 230 °C.

Step 9

Line the box tin with baking paper, add the dough to the mold and bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes.
